Satoshi’s
Beasts
The honey badger is an iconic symbol, especially for us Bitcoiners. With this artwork, I set out to explore more animals and mythical creatures in my creations - giving rise to a series I call Satoshi’s Beasts.
I put a lot of effort into this artwork and take my time to work out the small details.

The first sketch
The idea for this artwork emerged long ago, and I’ve been carrying this sketch in my sketchbook ever since. My sketches often come to life spontaneously and take shape quickly. As a result, I have many ideas and sketches waiting to be brought to life—but creating larger, more detailed pieces takes considerable time.

The initial skecth
I often stay true to my initial sketches, as my first creative impulse tends to be the strongest. Experience has taught me that overthinking an idea can sometimes diminish its original impact. That’s why it’s all the more important to take the time during the creation process.

Frist marks on paper
For the Honey Badger artwork, I began with the face and head, as this area is often the most challenging and crucial part of the piece.

Snakes & leaves
After finishing the honey badger part in about 70 hours, I moved on to the most detailed part: the snakes and leaves surrounding it. The real challenge was maintaining a consistent style throughout the process, since there were roughly 150 hours of work spread out over about eight months between the beginning and the end. Creating drawings of this size with just a ballpoint pen is an incredibly demanding task.

Attention & energy
After completing the background, it was time for the fine details. With a piece of artwork this large, it’s both important and challenging to give every area of the drawing the attention and energy it deserves. After roughly 210 hours, the drawing was finally complete. All that was missing was the touch of cadmium orange…

The final Artwork
he finished artwork has become one of my best pieces, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever sell it. In person, the drawing looks far more impressive than in a photo, as its details truly come to life.

The Great Riddle
My fourth artwork in the Genesis Series is now complete. This also means that the fourth word for my The Great Riddle Bitcoin wallet is now hidden within the artwork and publicly discoverable.

I have dedicated over 210 hours of my life to this artwork to reinforce my message: we are all Satoshi, and we are all as resilient as the honey badger. Keep fighting, surrender to nothing.
