We live in an era defined by speed, where everything moves at a relentless pace. In this rush, modern art has lost its value, much like our fiat currency, which is increasingly devalued trough money printing.
This is the era of The Great Print.
I create art with a low time preference —
art that values patience and enduring significance.
Ballpoint pens and Bitcoin create a perfect match in my art, as both represent permanence and resilience. Just as the ink from a ballpoint pen leaves lasting marks, each transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain is etched forever. This parallel highlights the enduring, unalterable nature shared by both mediums, reflecting the timeless impact they hold.
You often hear it in the Bitcoin space: "I missed Bitcoin"—whether it was in 2013, 2017, or 2021. I still hear it today: "The train has left the station." But the truth is, while the train keeps moving, it lets anyone hop on at any time. Sure, we may never see Bitcoin at $10 again—and I believe we’ll never see it below $20,000 again—but that doesn’t mean it’s too late. You can and should preserve some of your purchasing power in Bitcoin. The price is just one aspect. What many don’t realize is that Bitcoin is only 15 years old as of 2024, and its entire culture is being shaped by us right now. This became clear to me while following a debate about creating a currency symbol for satoshis. When was the last time any of us had the chance to shape a fiat currency? Most people would say never. Bitcoin, however, is different. Anyone can participate and help shape the future world reserve currency. That process is happening today. This is why I’m so fascinated by Bitcoin art. It gives us the power to spread Bitcoin’s message to the world in a deeply personal and meaningful way.
